Dr. Gershey, a native of the Scranton area, received his undergraduate degree from Temple University. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he was presented with the Matthew Cryer Society Award. This is the highest academic honor given by the School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Gershey completed his orthodontic training at Temple University School of Dentistry and he began his practice in Scranton in July of 1978. In February 1980, he opened an office in Blakley. Dr. Gershey is a past president of the Scranton District Dental Society (1984) and a current member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and Mid Atlantic Society of Orthodontics.
Dr. Gershey is married to the former Anne E. Rushmore, and is the father of three adult children, Brian, Daniel and Timothy. Dr. Gershey is an avid golfer and has won numerous golf titles in the Scranton region. He is also past president of the Country Club of Scranton. Dr. Gershey is a Civil War history buff and enjoys spending time with his wife and their Labrador Retriever Sabrina.
